How to apply for funding

The Foundation‘s main aims are to:

  • help registered charities and charitable causes in communities throughout the UK only, especially where the Society’s members and staff live and work
  • assist with specific tangible items
  • focus on those with special needs, the elderly/vulnerable or those suffering hardship.

The Foundation is unable to support:

  • contributions towards large funds
  • expenses/fees/salaries, administration, research, sponsorship of individuals and events
  • advancement of religious/political activities including specific sectors of the community
  • mainstream schools and other local/government funded bodies

Applications are usually made following a recommendation from a member of the Society or through the Society’s branches or head office departments.  With their help we can be certain of supporting local charities and good causes in areas which they think are most important.

Please contact the branch closest to you who will be able to help with an initial assessment of your application. Alternatively, if there isn't a local branch near you, details can be sent direct to Head Office for consideration.  Please complete the application form and enclose an itemised breakdown of costs, together with copies of invoices/quotes to support your application to:

Please note:

In order for an application to be considered by the Trustees, it MUST meet our criteria.  Please read through the Guidelines and criteria page BEFORE submitting an application.

The demand on the Foundation’s funds means it is not always possible to support all applications - even if the criteria is met.
