Guaranteed Investment Account

Issue 13

We have teamed up with Key Data Investment Services and Credit Suisse International to bring you the Guaranteed Investment Account Issue 13 (the Plan) - an opportunity to benefit from potential growth linked to Stock Market performance.

What is a Guaranteed Investment Account?

  • It is a deposit account with a fixed 4 year investment term. Early exit fees apply.
  • Investors benefit from potential UK stock market growth
  • Your investment is 100% capital protected, provided the Plan is held for the full fixed investment term, plus
  • At maturity. a gross growth payment of at least 13.5% or, up to a maximum of 40% growth depending on the performance of the FTSE(TM) 100 (the Index).

How does the plan work?

If you maintain your investment in the Plan for the full investment term your capital is 100% guaranteed and you will receive a gross growth payment on your initial investment, determined as follows:

  1. The investment term is divided into 16 quarterly periods. At the end of each quarterly period the percentage gain or fall in the Index is calculated.
  2. The maximum gain or fall in the Index in any quarterly period is limited to 2.5%.
  3. At the end of the fixed investment term, the quarterly period gains in the level of the Index are added and the quarterly period falls in the level of the Index are subtracted (subject to a maximum gain or fall in any quarterly period of 2.5%). This gives the overall percentage return.
  4. The maximum growth of 40% will only be achieved if the percentage gain in the Index is 2.5% or more for each of the consecutive quarterly periods.

You should note that

  • If the overall percentage return is equal to or greater than 13.5% then that overall percentage return is the rate of growth paid on your initial investment.
  • If the overall percentage return is less than 13.5%, the rate of growth paid on your initial investment is 13.5%.
  • No partial withdrawals are allowed.

How much can I invest in the plan?

Minimum Maximum
Cash ISAs for 2008 - 2009 £3,600 £3,600
Direct Deposits (i.e. outside of an ISA) £3,600 £45,000
Cash ISA transfers £3,600 Full value
