When you take a first time buyer mortgage product, that offers our Legal Service we will pay part of the legal costs as agreed with our legal adviser in completing the purchase and mortgage. These costs are limited to their fee for carrying out the legal work in a straightforward case where the title to the property you are buying is registered freehold (heritable in Scotland).
To qualify for this mortgage product you must instruct our nominated legal advisor. If you have already instructed a legal adviser, or simply prefer to choose your own, then we may have alternative mortgage products available, which may suit your circumstances better.

This service only applies for applications made directly to the Society, and is not is not available for applications made via an intermediary or other third party. If you use this service and your purchase and mortgage does not complete then any reasonable costs and fees which our legal adviser has incurred will be payable by you.
