Our 3 Year Fixed Rate bond guarantees your interest rate no matter what happens to interest rates generally in the next three years up to 30 September 2010. These Bonds are available for a limited period only and investments will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

Interest

Interest rates are fixed until 30 September 2010 inclusive.

  • Annual interest is payable on 30 September 2008, 30 September 2009, and 30 September 2010, and may be added to the account or transferred to another account.
  • Monthly interest is payable on the last day of the month and must be transferred to another account.

Additional Deposits

You can add to your investment, while the Bond is still available to new investors, up to a maximum of £500,000. Once the Bond is closed to new investors you cannot make further deposits. Please note, the Bond may be withdrawn without notice and any subsequent deposit returned to you.

Withdrawals

Not permitted.

Early Closure

You may close your Bond after it has been open for 180 days or more, subject to the loss of an amount equivalent to 180 days interest on the account.

Maturity

Your investment in the Bond will run from the date of opening until 30 September 2010 inclusive.  From 1 October 2010 you will have instant access to your funds.

Tax

Interest is paid net of lower rate tax, currently 20%.

Interest can be paid gross on registration of an R85 HM Revenue & Customs form. If you are eligible to receive interest gross, please tick the appropriate box on the application form and an R85 will be sent to you.
