Combination Investments

Enjoy the flexibility to combine a number of product options from Legal & General and the Yorkshire Building Society.

Short term savings

Earn an attractive 5.00% gross/tax-free pa/AER when you put your savings into either a YBS Fixed Rate Savings Bond or a YBS Fixed Rate Cash ISA. Alternatively, you could choose to split your money across both these options.

Long term investments

For your long term investment goals, choose from a Legal & General investment bond or a Legal & General stocks and shares ISA. Again, you can invest your long term savings into one of these options or split your money across both.

The Combination Investment products are Limited Issue and are Fixed until 30 September 2012. To take out any of these investments you must use the Investment Planning Service, where you will receive investment advice from a Legal & General Adviser.

How it works

We have chosen to work with Legal & General to ensure we can offer a wide range of financial advice, products and services.

Legal & General is one of the UK's leading financial services companies, with over 170 years experience and a reputation for providing excellent, value for money investment products.

Combination Investments

The YBS Fixed Rate Savings Bond and/or Fixed Rate Cash ISA are only available if you also invest in a Legal & General investment bond and/or a Legal & General stocks and shares ISA through the Investment Planning Service.

Amount of investment

The minimum investment amount in the YBS Fixed Rate Savings Bond or Fixed Rate Cash ISA is £1,000, subject to a total minimum investment of £5,000 with Legal & General.

Combined minimum investment limits vary depending on the combination of products you select but you need at least £6,000 to be able to invest and this must be a 70/30 split between Legal & General and YBS products. See some example investments.

A Legal & General adviser will be able to tell you the minimum initial investment needed for each product and the total you will need to invest for your specific product combination.

  • At least 70% of total investment must be in a Legal & General investment bond and/or stocks and shares ISA
  • Minimum investment of £5,000 with Legal & General

  • Charges may apply on closure or when you cash in all or part of your investment.
  • Early closure of a Stocks & Shares ISA would
