Salary benchmarking

Salaries are benchmarked to ensure that the amount paid remains competitive in the market place. Using the YBS role profiles, the roles are matched against descriptions in a number of Financial sector salary surveys, primarily Watson Wyatt and CEL. In some cases further research is required, for example if a close survey match isn't available or if it is felt that local market pressures aren't fully reflected by the surveys. In these cases salary data from other sources such as job adverts, other companies, specialist websites and recruitment agencies will be sought.

The salary levels for other similar roles within YBS are also taken into consideration. This is to ensure internal fairness and to comply with equal pay legislation.
