Elizabeth, who received her award from our Chief Executive, Mike Regnier, at the event in November, helped individuals to find redeployment opportunities within the Group and worked with other organisations to identify opportunities for those at risk of redundancy. Elizabeth also introduced thank you cards and memory boards in closing N&P branches so customers could share their appreciation and memories with colleagues – creating a lasting legacy for the Group.

Elizabeth was recognised at our third annual Raising the Roof event, attended by 56 colleagues who were also chosen as finalists by our senior leaders in 2017. The event is all about celebrating our brightest stars and saying thank you for the huge difference they make to our customers and colleagues.

Elizabeth’s story isn’t unique at YBS Group, every month we celebrate our colleagues’ great work through our Raising the Roof recognition scheme.

It is a huge success with over 1,500 colleagues receiving nominations in 2017 from their colleagues or managers. Each month around 14 winners receive a certificate and one of the winners receives a ‘golden ticket’ - an automatic invite to the annual awards dinner.

Customer Service Representative, Billy Reidy, has been a regular nominee for Raising the Roof with him being nominated in 2015 and a monthly winner in 2016 and an annual finalist in 2017. He’s been recognised repeatedly for the vast amount of work he does for his colleagues and the community. He played a pivotal role in helping his team raise over £4,000 in 2016 through various fundraising events and has become a role model in his team, going above and beyond what is expected of him.
