Internet Saver - Issue 3 gives you the freedom to access your account online whenever it suits you. From viewing transactions to transferring money, you're always in control of your savings.

Interest rates

Interest rates are variable, paid annually or monthly.

Gross rate p.a.
Interest rate payable before any income tax is deducted. It can only be paid subject to the required registration.

Net rate p.a.
Interest rate payable after the deduction of income tax, at the lower rate of 20%.

AER stands for Annual Equivalent Rate and shows what the interest rate would be if interest was paid and added each year. This will enable you to compare more easily the return you can expect from your savings over time.

It is important that you read all the terms applicable before you decide whether to open this account. Terms 10, 11 & 14 of the PDF General Terms explain the circumstances in which we may change the interest rates, terms and conditions and PDF charges relating to your account, and how we will tell you about the changes

Please note that for security reasons, online withdrawals are not allowed for the first 14 days after your account has been opened.

Product terms

  1. To open an Internet Saver - Issue 3, you must be aged 16 or over and must be a UK resident. An account can be held in your sole name, or jointly with one other eligible individual.

    1. The minimum initial deposit is £1.
    2. The maximum amount you can deposit is £1,000,000.
    3. Your initial deposit can be by cheque. Any cheques subsequently received will be returned to you.
    4. We do not accept Postal Orders
    5. Additional deposits (minimum amount £1) must be transfers, either from another bank or building society account, e.g. by standing order, or another account held with the Yorkshire. Deposits by account transfer will start to earn interest on the day they are credited to your account. To set up a standing order you need to quote the sort code 60-92-04 and your account number which is the first 8 digits of your account number, if you are asked for a reference number please quote the full 10 digits of your account number.
    6. For security reasons, online withdrawals are not available for the first 14 days after your account has been opened. After 14 days withdrawals can be made from your account at any time on condition that there are sufficient cleared funds in your account and that you maintain the minimum balance of £1.
    7. Withdrawals are only allowed either by:
      • Logging onto our website to transfer to your nominated bank or building society account or a nominated account held with us, or
      • Use of an optional LINK card and Personal Identification Number (PIN) at a cash machine.

     

  2. The rate of interest for the Internet Saver - Issue 3 is variable. Interest can be added to your account annually on the 31st March or it can be paid monthly on the last day of the month, but must be paid into another Yorkshire Building Society account or an external account held with another bank or building society.

  3. You may nominate twelve external accounts for withdrawals to be transferred to, and you will also be able to choose up to three other Yorkshire accounts to receive transfers from your Internet Saver - Issue 3 account.

  4. If you choose to have a LINK card on your Internet Saver - Issue 3 account, you will be able to withdraw up to £250 per day in cash from over 30,000 cash machines around the country.

  5. You will be able to check your balance and interest rate and view statements showing transactions on your account whenever you wish. Whenever we change the rate of interest applying to Internet Saver - Issue 3, we will inform you by e-mail within 30 days of the change. It is important that you let us know if your e-mail address changes.

  6. As we will advise you of changes to Internet Saver - Issue 3 interest rate and terms, and generally communicate with you, via email, it is very important that you notify us if your email address changes.

    You can change your contact details (postal address, email and telephone) when you are logged in. To change your name you will need to write, enclosing proof of the change, to Savings Service, Yorkshire Building Society, Yorkshire House, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD5 8LJ.

  7. If you open an Internet Saver - Issue 3 account and subsequently change your mind within 14 days, we will either transfer your savings to another account with us (subject to the completion of the appropriate application form) or repay them to you with interest earned up to but not including, the day of closure. Contact us for more details.

    Call us on 0845 1200 100 for more details about closing your account. Alternatively, you can write to Savings Service, Yorkshire Building Society, Yorkshire Drive, Bradford, BD5 8LJ or login and close your account online.

  8. If at any time you're not satisfied with the service you've received, please let us know. We have a simple process enabling you to do this, the details of which are in our leaflet "We're here to help you - our complaints process", which can be downloaded from this site, obtained at any of our branches or requested by calling us on 0845 1200 300.

    If we cannot come to a resolution to your satisfaction, you may have the right to refer the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service, of which we are a member.
