What is a Decision in Principle?

Before a full mortgage application, you'll need to get a Decision in Principle (DIP).

This is a quick assessment where we ask for some details about your income and your outgoings. We’ll be able to tell you if we can lend to you, and how much you could borrow.
It takes as little as 10 minutes
It won’t affect your credit rating
It lasts for 30 days.

Important information

You need to:
Be 18 or over
Be a UK resident and either a UK citizen or hold a European passport
Use the mortgage for the property you’re going to live in
Have all your income paid in sterling (£)
Not use any of your mortgage for debt consolidation.
We'll ask you for:
Your income
