Be prepared for snow and cold weather, the freezing temperatures can damage your home

Leave your heating on and set your thermostat to a minimum of 10 C

Get your boiler and central heating serviced

Insulate your loft, pipes and water tanks

If you are affected by a frozen/burst pipes

  • Turn off the water at the mains
  • If it has caused severe water damage, turn off the electricity supply completely and leave the property until a qualified electrian can inspect the system
  • Do not touch the electricity supply if you are standing in water
  • Catch any dripping water in buckets, if your ceiling starts to bulge pierce some small holes to allow water to drain through – preventing further damage
  • If the ceiling bulges are significant please leave the property for your own safety
