Core Contents - Sudden, unexpected and visible damage which hasn’t been caused on purpose to items inside the home and on land belonging to the home.

2 Emergency cover for the cost of repairs, parts and call out charges for:
- Plumbing and drainage.
- Heating system.
- Domestic power supply.
- Infestation of the home.
- Home security.
- Roof damage.
3 Cover for alternative accommodation for your family and pets if the home is uninhabitable as a result of the emergency.
Legal expenses
- Up to £50,000 of cover as standard.
- No excess.
- Covers the costs of taking or defending legal action for:
- Personal injury, including clinical negligence.
- Consumer protection.
- Residential.
- Employment.
- Tax (Full HMRC inquiries).
Personal items
- £2,000 minimum cover or increase up to £15,000 if you need.

- Includes cover for money in and away from home up to £1,000.
- Accidental damage and loss included as standard.
4 Cover for your Contents inside and outside the home anywhere in the British Isles and worldwide up to 90 days. Items such as mobile phones, laptops, jewellery, watches, money, clothing, glasses, wheelchairs, mobility scooters and cameras.
Single item limit £2,000. Any individual item over £2,000 needs to be specified on the policy.
Bicycle cover
- Single item limit of £750 per bicycle.
- Items over £750 need to be specified when you take out the policy.
- Covers accidental loss or damage to your (or your family’s) bicycles inside and outside the home anywhere in the world for up to 90 days.
Matching items cover
- If a damaged item is part of a matching set and we can’t repair or replace it (with an item of the same colour, make, model, material and size), we’ll pay the cost of replacing the whole matching set.
Key Features:
- Minimum sum insured for Contents Cover is £60K but the customer can choose to increase this to £80K.
- Items of jewellery, watches and items that contain gold, silver or platinum that always stay inside the home are covered within the chosen Contents sum insured for up to a limit of £10K as standard.
- Contents in the open such as garden furniture, lawnmowers and portable BBQs are covered up to £5K. Plants, trees and shrubs are covered up to £5K.
- £20K for loss or damage to contents whilst they are temporarily at other premises (in the British Isles) like halls of residence, care homes, hospital or some of the contents are in a locked bank safety deposit box.
- Whilst moving home, the contents are covered in both homes for up to 90 days in a row (in the British Isles) whilst moving to a new permanent home. Accidental loss or damage to the contents while moving to a new permanent home (in the British Isles) including temporary storage for up to 7 days in a row. This is up to the Contents sum insured.
Key Exclusions:
- Storm or flood damage to trees, shrubs, hedges, bushes, plants and lawns.
The types of incidents that are covered are:
- Damage by fire
- Flood
- Storm
- Theft or attempted theft
- Escape of water and other similar causes
Key Features:
- £5,000 of cover for finding a leak (also known as trace and access), for example – the cost of removing and replacing the flooring to trace and access a leaking water pipe.
- £50,000 of cover for Alternative Accommodation in case the family including pets cannot live in the home whilst it is being repaired as a result of damage
- Cover for the buyer of the home between exchange of contracts and completion, provided the buyer hasn’t already arranged their own insurance, up to the Buildings sum insured.
- Accidental damage to the locks and loss of the keys to the outside doors of the home, or to safes or alarms in the home, up to the Buildings sum insured.
- Damage caused by emergency services (i.e. fire, police, ambulance) to the buildings whilst getting into the home to deal with an emergency, for example – the Police having to break down the front door to deal with a medical emergency inside. This is up to the Buildings sum insured.
Key Exclusions:
- Damage caused by normal use or ageing, or lack of maintenance, for example – damp on the walls caused by rusted guttering or rotten window frames.
