Yorkshire Building Society has appointed Orlagh Hunt as Chief People Officer.

Orlagh has more than 25 years’ experience in human resources and has worked in financial services for two decades, most recently as a consultant and non-executive director for FDB Insurance.

She previously served as Head of HR for AXA Sunlife and was Group HR Director for FTSE-100 insurer Royal Sun Alliance, which achieved 6th place in The Sunday Times’s Best 25 Places to Work. She has also previously held the post of Group HR Director for Allied Irish Bank in Dublin.

Orlagh said:

I’m delighted to join Yorkshire Building Society at this exciting time.

An organisation’s biggest asset is its people and I’m looking forward to working with colleagues to ensure the Society continues to be a great place to work, with a culture that embodies the very best our colleagues have to offer our members.

Mike Regnier, Chief Executive at Yorkshire Building Society, said:

We’re very pleased to have Orlagh on board. “I’m very confident that her strong leadership skills and strategic abilities, combined with her considerable experience and expertise in both human resources and financial services make her an excellent choice for the role.
