Society Double Winners at Wellbeing Awards

  • Yorkshire Building Society has been named double winners at the Employee Wellbeing Awards 2019.
  • The Society won awards in the Financial Employee Wellbeing and Mental Employee Wellbeing (fewer than 5,000 employees) categories.

The Reward & Employee Benefits Association (REBA) is the professional association for employers offering rewards and benefits to their staff as part of a wider HR strategy to engage talent and drive success.

The REBA Employee Wellbeing Awards provide an independent benchmark and celebrate the great work of employers leading the way in employee wellbeing.

Tracey Newton, Director of People Performance for Yorkshire Building Society, said:

It is fantastic that we picked up awards in these categories. They recognise the work we have been doing at Yorkshire Building Society to encourage and promote mental health as well as financial wellbeing among our colleagues.

We are committed to supporting our colleagues in the way we think and act about mental health at every level the Society, seeking to make sure all colleagues feel respected, valued and proud to work for us.

As a financial service provider we also think that the financial wellbeing of our colleagues is just as important as physical and mental health. To help our colleagues we recently partnered with Salary Finance to give them the option to start a regular savings habit by saving directly out of their salary each month into a Society savings account.

The judges from REBA were impressed by the Society’s commitment to looking inwardly at the financial wellbeing of its staff as well as that of its customers. They said:
