• Yorkshire Building Society analysed the average house price on Christmas streets Santa might consider if he ever looks to move from the North Pole
  • Christmas Hill in Guildford has the highest average property price of £882,733; compared to Christmas Street in Liverpool with an average of £76,000
  • Or if he wants to remain festive but keep it low key he could move to Quality Street in Reigate, Surrey

If Santa Claus is thinking of packing up his sleigh and moving to the marginally warmer climate of the UK, analysis[i] by Yorkshire Building Society has revealed the average house price of Christmas addresses in England that could tempt him from his North Pole home.

Research by the Society shows that if Santa feels he deserves a Christmas treat then he could swap the North Pole for the North Downs and park up his reindeer on Christmas Hill in Guildford, Surrey, at the most expensive address, costing on average[ii] £882,733.

Although if Saint Nick is looking to grab a property bargain – then Christmas Street in Liverpool offers great value at £76,000 and is less than two miles from Anfield, the home of Liverpool FC so he will feel right at home in his red outfit.

However, if he feels he wants a break from Christmas but still wants a festive address he could always consider moving to Quality Street in Reigate, Surrey, where the average house price is £651,222.

Benjamin Merritt, senior mortgage manager at Yorkshire Building Society, said:

Should Santa want to relocate from the North Pole and come to town he would have plenty of choice in England. Although we’re unsure of his affordability criteria as he only really works one day a year and his philanthropic nature of giving may mean he leaves little for himself. Christmas Street in Bristol might be the best place for him to start his house hunt given it’s not far off the country’s average house price of £269,945[iii].
