Ways of applying for a mortgage

When the time comes to start your mortgage application, there are a number of ways to begin the process.

Find the mortgage application method that suits you

online

Online

You can get an online lending decision (Approval in Principle) in just 10 minutes and, if successful, carry onto your full mortgage application.

You also have the option to save your lending decision for up to 30 days. During that time you can login and continue to your full application.

branch

In branch

You can go into one of our branches to speak to a mortgage advisor about a mortgage application. They can advise on the suitability of our mortgage deals and the application process.

phone

Over the phone

You can also call our contact centre to speak to a mortgage advisor about a mortgage application.

Call us on:

0345 166 9510*
  • 8am - 8pm: Mon to Fri
  • 9am - 1pm: Sat

Take your lending decision with you

Our online Approval in Principles are transferable – this means that once you have obtained a successful lending decision online you can go into branch or contact us over the phone to complete your full mortgage application.

The details you have provided for your lending decision will be available to the mortgage advisor you speak to, so you won’t need to provide these again.

Getting advice

Our online mortgage applications are offered without advice (sometimes called ‘execution only’ applications). You can find out what this means with our online applications help page. If you decide you’d like some advice on the mortgage deals available to you or any aspect of the application process, you can visit us in branch or speak to us over the phone.

You can request an appointment to meet with a mortgage advisor in one of our branches. Our automated system will allow you to request a slot in the diary of your nearest branch.
