Society reaches 25,000 children with financial education lessons

Yorkshire Building Society has now delivered its Money Minds financial education lessons to more than 25,000 children
Money Minds is a free financial education programme consisting of a series of activities and projects designed to promote discussion and share learning among children and young people of all ages and abilities.

Money Minds lessons are delivered by Yorkshire Building Society colleagues as part of their award-winning corporate volunteering scheme, which allocates each employee 31 hours’ paid leave every year to carry out volunteering in local communities.
There are 10 different topics to choose from, adapted to each key stage. Young children can learn about how to keep money safe and budgeting and older students can learn about buying a house and pensions.
More than 25,000 pupils across the UK have now received a Money Minds lesson since the programme launched in 2015.
